WORDS OR MEANING?

Words are wonderful tools. Words create pictures and feelings for us whether they are written or spoken. But there is a significant problem with offering words: each of us understands their meanings in a slightly different way.

Don’t get me wrong I love words, language. I am particularly enamored with any sort of dictionary or encyclopedia. However, just lately I have begun to realize how vastly different individual interpretation and understanding of words can be.

In my recent workshop for the Ozark Research Institute, I handed out envelopes to each of the 30 plus participants. These particular envelopes contained no words at all just similar photographs. The pictures of various flowers which I placed in the envelopes were truly beautiful ones taken by my daughter.

The students were advised just to hold the envelopes for a period of time without opening them. Later each told the class what vibrations they had felt or sensed from the envelopes.

Even though the contents of those envelopes were similar, each one of the students felt something different. No one was wrong even though no one expressed the word “flower”. It was obvious even with a highly detailed photograph and no written words as a distraction, individual impressions are different.

Each member of the class came from a somewhat different background, had encountered different experiences and consequently each was impressed with a completely different aspect of their personal envelope.

Some felt earth or dirt. One who had the photo of the parrot tulips quite accurately saw a deep purple color. Another simply felt water. One detected pulsing life. And one of the students who had the picture of white lilies saw the color red which I believe was simply the life energy of the flowers.

But I can honestly say no one was wrong. They simply understood things in a different way, were attracted to realities of the photos from their own unique perspective.

In my work as a counselor a great percentage of the problems that clients bring to me are those which exist in their relationships. These difficulties are apparently very similar in nature whether the relationships with which they are involved are intimate, spousal, family, friendship or workforce related.

These problems all have a major component of either misunderstanding or total lack of accurate communication.

If our goal is to communicate with each other from the wisdom of our indwelling Spirit, then that communication has to carry more depth than mere words. We need to begin speaking or writing from our intuitive vibration. We need to choose our words as well as our accompanying emotional wave length with great care.

The most ignored principle of good communication is the first one. If we want to be heard we must first listen to the other person and we must listen with love. When we can hear with our hearts, there is a much better opportunity to gain understanding and make an appropriate reply.

Unfortunately, many times we are so busy framing a response to someone’s ideas that we really are not hearing them at all. We have heard this or that similar situation before and think we have the right answer. Often we do not if simply because their situation is not exactly the same as any other problem or challenge.

If you can bring the energy of love’s wisdom, the deep understanding that exists in your heart and soul to all your interactions with others, you will begin to evolve any relationship.

Whether you are speaking to loved ones, friends or strangers, learning to use your highest spirit-inspired words will enable you to move forward with grace. You will lift and inspire all those around you.

My Buddhist friend tells me that it is an affront to Spirit to ever take offense at another’s words or actions. Why? Because if we are offended, we have judged. We believe that the words were an attack against our ego, our self image. We have taken the position that we are entitled to say that the person was “wrong”. We have decided that we have the right to be “hurt”.

We have all heard: “don’t take anything personally” “It’s not about you, it’s them.” Sometimes that is not so easy. If we practice taking the high road in our associations with others, allowing others to be who they are, as they are, life becomes much more pleasant. We can begin to learn instead of suffering.

I am not suggesting that we toss out our ability to intelligently discriminate in our relationships. We need to know when we are moving down a path that will not be for our best good.

If we have exhausted all our best ideas of verbal interaction with anyone and find ourselves at an impasse, it may be necessary to love someone from a distance. It may be necessary to move that person off the center stage of our life up to the balcony or even out to the curb.

We cannot force all relationships to work the way we wish. The most we can do is to give more inner attention to the way we speak and write. If we will do that we will encounter less resistance to our communication with others.

The 30 plus students who attended my Life Path workshop at the recent convention in Arkansas brought me great joy with their enthusiasm. I had the opportunity to counsel with many of them regarding their life desires and challenges. If I can be of help to you with a private reading and counseling sessions call me at my Florida home.

I can help you with any questions on any subject. Your guides will be with me to show the way. I can meet with you in my Florida studio or work with you by telephone. In either case I will give you a complete recording of your personal reading.

SPIRIT vs. SHOES

I talk to myself a lot these days. It seems to be my way of figuring things out. I feel the need to analyze my actions and my motives. So when I noticed a personal peculiarity the other day, I had to understand it.

You see I spend a lot of time at the beach. I am usually there twice a day weather permitting. I love the early morning walk in the damp sand. I particularly enjoy the sunsets. If I have time I will enjoy a quick swim.

Many times I will just stand with my feet and ankles in the water doing a visualization exercise. I imagine and intend that I am releasing into the Gulf of Mexico any attitude, idea or emotion that no longer serves me. I see those concepts and feelings being “recycled” and brought back to my body as clean fresh energy.

Being near the water or in it always brings me a sense of peace and expansiveness. I feel part of the large scheme of life. I simply feel more capable of anything I might need to accomplish.

So what is this about shoes? I like to walk barefoot in the sand. I sense the closeness with Spirit, with Soul. The odd thing is that as soon as I walk away from those sandals I begin to worry that I will lose them. You have to understand they are only cheap plastic. It certainly is not the expense.

So what is this fear about? I always try to put the shoes where I will remember and can see them easily. Yet I worry. I think perhaps I should put some red ribbons on the toes of the shoes but I don’t. Maybe I ought to bring a bright colored towel to lay the sandals on but I don’t.

What is this rather unreasonable fear? If I lost them the worst that could happen is I would drive the half mile home barefoot. Could the shoes somehow represent my ability to move forward? Am I concerned that I may not be able to “keep pace” with my plans and ambitions?

Even further could I be afraid metaphorically of “losing my balance” with all the projects that are active in my life now. In my eagerness to do it all could I be worried about stumbling over my own feet? Could the shoes represent my need for stability?

I have not reached any mind blowing conclusion. I am just trying to keep my sense of humor in all this cogitating. After all it is said that those people born under a Pisces sign (which I am) either have impossibly big hands and feet or small ones. In that lottery I drew long feet that are difficult to fit. Perhaps I just dread having to go shopping again!

One thing remains true. Our outward actions as well as our emotions will tell us how we view our lives. They will clearly point out our belief or lack of belief in our own abilities. Emotions can be enormously helpful in showing us where we need to do some personal work or restructuring of our self judgments.

Each one of us arrived on this earth with special abilities, talents and innate desires for their fulfillment. In further developing what you already possess, you will access the passion and joy that come from following your personal life path.
Allow yourself a mistake or two. Do it better the next time!

Praise yourself when you get it right. Be grateful for every breakthrough large or small. You are special, important and valuable. By your example you are a gift to this earth and all her people.

ENERGY? WHAT ENERGY?

You know that you are so much more than just your physical body and intellect. You are a dynamo of divine energy. Point the energy that is you in a specific direction through your thoughts, your words, your imagination and stand back! Until you begin working with the energy that is you, you simply will not believe the “miracles” you can create.

Let me explain. I believe in affirmations, those positive statements that we make as if they were true this minute. Let me offer my experience with the benefits of affirming. In the 1970’s when I had completed three courses offered by Silva Mind Control, I decided I would attend their convention held in Laredo, Texas.

I was not familiar with Laredo or the Mind Control conventions but I had a strong feeling that the convention would be important for me. Naturally I wanted to get the very most I could from the experience.

To accomplish that goal I recorded my voice on cassette tape telling me something along these lines: “In the first week in October I will attend the Silva Mind Control Convention in Laredo. I will have a tremendously powerful experience and gain much useful knowledge. My intuitive abilities will expand….”

I listened to that 10 minute tape of my voice on my earphones three times every day, morning, noon and night all through the month of September. I followed the listening with a short silent meditation. In other words, I invested 45 minutes every day for a whole month to be sure of success! Was that “over kill”? Maybe!

What were the results? Yes, I had a super learning experience at the Convention. Every time I encountered a glitch, I reminded myself that I was having a “tremendously powerful experience.” So what, the room reservations were confused. So what! I received a better, larger room that offered an unlimited view of miles!

My time with the hundreds of other attendees in workshop after workshop was totally comfortable as well as exciting. I met some beautifully evolved people. On the plane ride back, I felt I could fly just on my own enthusiasm. I came home with loads of new ideas.

However that which was the most interesting result of all that intense programming was yet to come. Every first week in October from that year to this, I have enjoyed a usually unexpected but enlightening experience. It has become my October gift like a second birthday.

I now look forward to October every year knowing that something wonderful is on the horizon for me. It is as if that energy keeps on working for me and just will not go away. Who could have guessed that those times of affirming and meditating could produce such an ongoing result?

If you will look at the way you are spending or using your own minutes, hours and days, you might decide to invest some of that time in the creation of a “miracle” for yourself! My desire for you is that you manifest the most fulfilling life for yourself that you can think, dream, or imagine! I know you have the power.

SOUL GROUP

Did you ever wonder why you are attracted to one person and not another? Or did you ever puzzle over why you feel you know someone, while you realize full well that you do not?

There can be many surface reasons for that sort of attraction. That person could simply dress in a way that is familiar and pleasing to you. Perhaps something in their demeanor or general appearance reminds you of someone of your acquaintances. That woman or man, girl or boy, could simply have a winning smile.

Every once in a while I get what amounts to almost a compulsion to speak to a stranger in a store or on the beach. It is not as if I have anything really important to say but rather I want that momentary connection no matter how temporary. In other words our energies call to each other and I feel the need to respond.

“Beautiful weather.” “What a lovely little dog. How old is he?” “Is there a sandwich shop nearby?” You get the general idea. It is just casual chatter but it feels right.

What is that energy draw? Why does it happen? One explanation is your past life associations. This individual may seem familiar because you have shared past life relationships. Especially those times that were tumultuous or unhappy in the past can exude an exceptionally strong pull.

That pull can present an underlying desire for completion or perhaps to “do it better” this time around. Again, it can be just the need to say “Hello again. I recognize you.” After all, most of us have had multiple lives and many times multiple lives with the same cooperating soul of another.

The need to touch someone energetically with your words can also come from the heartfelt knowledge that they are a member of your own soul group. Each of us was born of a particular soul group. Those spirit family connections are difficult to ignore. We always feel those “family ties”.

My feeling is this: whatever the reason, when you feel a desire to initiate a conversation with anyone, go for it! It is impossible to say which “sidewalk friendship” or grocery store exchange of words with a stranger could be the one to give you an unanticipated benefit.

Imagine, from that chance encounter there could be just a word, a thought, or a whole concept that would propel you forward. It could be the one conversation that would inspire you to a fuller exploration of your personal life path. It might be that idea that would help you find your personal passion and joy.

I urge you to engage fully with your life. DON’T HOLD BACK WITH YOUR LIGHT OR YOUR LOVE. Each one of you has so many special talents and creative abilities. You are an original. You are unique. You are precious. Your days are valuable.

Use every day, every hour, with enthusiasm and intention. You will be a blessing to our earth and every living thing.

You have within you the deep desire to be all that you can be. You yearn to actuate your life. Let me help you with any of your personal questions or challenges. Make your appointment with me for your personal and completely private psychic counseling.

I can work with you over the telephone or in my Florida studio. In either case you will receive a tape cassette of your reading for your later review.
